הדיא II, הדיה

הֲדָיָאII, הֲדָיָה, בַּר ה׳, בֶּן ה׳ m. (corresp. to h. דָּאָה or דַּיָּה, v. discussion Ḥull63b) 1) a bird of the hawk species. Sifra Shmini Par. 3, ch. V (ref. to הנץ למינהו, Lev. 11:16) ‘after its kind להביא בן ההדייה refers to ben hădaya; Ḥull.63a בר חיריא ed., Ar. בר הוֹדָיָא. Lev. R. s 5, beg. הדין בר הדיחוכ׳ ed. (Ar. הודיא, v. ed. Koh. s. v.) this hawk sees its food at a distance of (v. Ḥull.63b, ref. to רָאָה a. דָּאָה). 2) pr. n. m. Bar Hădaya. Ber.56a (an interpreter of dreams). Ab. Zar.30a.
